~ A 12 feet high pole has been secured behind each turnpost. 2 cables connect horizontally on each side creating an X above the ring. In the center where the cables intersect dangling is the Amulet. The 3 combatants and a ladder are already in the ring as Belvedere sitting in a Powerboat, makes the wrestler introductions. ~
Belvedere: Introducing first from Monterey California standing at 6 feet 6 inches weighing in at 244 pounds. MATTHEW KNOX!!!!!
Momo: It all comes down to this for Knox. He was drafted in the first trials and came up short. He was a replacement in the second trials and came up short. He opted in then opted out of the Tribulations, didn’t get drafted and is a replacement in the third trials. If he wins this match, he’s in the Illuminatus.
Hood: Knox is going to finish his story.
Momo: It will be a good story indeed, he’s had to overcome many obstacles.
Hood: I’m talking about the book he’s writing.
Momo: Oh…..
Belvedere: And in that corner standing in at…..
~ Before he can make Shawn Warstein’s introduction, Penelope wastes no time attacking Warstein.~
Momo: looks like Penelope couldn’t wait to get the party started.
Hood: I think the motion of the water caused them to stumble. It was an accident
~ Penelope kicks Warstein in the shin, then delivers an elbow to the side of his head that sends him reeling backwards. Knox ducks under a roundhouse attempt from Penelope, but isn’t quick enough to block a kick to the groin. Knox keels over and grabs his crotch area. Penelope looks over at her fallen opponents and quickly sets up the ladder. Penelope begins to climb the ladder. Warstein uses the ropes to help him up on his feet. He runs over and dropkicks Penelope off the ladder. ~
Momo: I think Penelope had dinner reservations tonight. They wanted to end this one quick.
Hood: or maybe Penelope is getting sea sick.
~ Knox gets up to his feet. Warstein grabs the ladder and hurls it at Knox, hitting him on the back. ~
Momo: if my math is correct, if Warstein wins this match, Team TLS will clinch a spot in the Illuminatus.
Hood: I don't trust your math.
~ Knox rubs his back as Warstein turns his attention towards Penelope. Warstein grab Penelope by the hair and whips her towards the turnbuckle. Knox is on his feet and has the ladder in his hands. He runs towards Warstein, and knocks him down. Knox slams the ladder on Warstein’s leg. Penelope comes from behind Knox and delivers a flying elbow. Knox drops the ladder. Warstein crawls over to the corner and rubs his leg as Penelope lifts Knox up and slams him on the ladder. Knox screams in pain. Warstein is up but limps around as Penelop has Knox in a headlock. ~
Momo: Looks like Warstein may have injured his leg.
Hood: Thank you Captain Obvious.
~ Penelope delivers a running bulldog on Knox. She then turns her attention to the hobbled Warstein. Penelope goes for a lariat, but Warstein slides under it and counters with a super kick that sends her to the turnpost. Warstein follows this up with a splash in the corner. ~
Momo: His leg looks just fine.
Hood: He’s got Wolverine’s healing abilities.
~ Warstein points to his head as to signal that he was faking the injury all along. Warstein grabs Penelope and slams her on top of Knox. Warstein retrieves the ladder and then swiftly goes to the corner. Warstein climbs the turnbuckle to the top, and with the ladder still in his hands, he leaps off. But both Penelope and Knox have moved out of the way, leaving Warstein to slam his chest hard on the metal ladder. Both Knox and Penelop point to their heads, as to signal that they both were playing possum. Knox places his hand in the air to give Penelope a high 5. She hesitates for a bit, and then slowly reaches up, which gives Knox the opening that he needs to kick her in the groin. ~
Momo: What a cheapshot by Knox. A low blow on a woman. Really?
Hood: Hey, it’s 2024. Women are treated equally.
~ Knox delivers a DDT to Penelope, he then heads over to Warstein who is still down. Knox lifts Warstein up and power bombs him on the ladder. Knox kicks Warstein off the ladder, then he picks it up and places it in the center of the ring. He begins to climb up the ladder. Penelope is back on her feet and gets to Knox as he is halfway up. Penelope puts her head underneath Knox’s arm, then drops him with a back suplex. ~
Momo: I think at this stage in the match, it’s not smart to climb up the ladder, as you are leaving yourself vulnerable.
Hood: I don’t think it’s ever safe to climb a ladder.
~ Penelope climbs up the ladder backwards, and then leaps off the 5th rung with a diving elbow on Knox. Warstein watches the action from the opposite side of the ring. Penelope delivers some hard chops to the chest of Knox before giving him a headbutt. Knox stumbles backwards, Penelope leaps at him with a flying forearm, but Knox moves out of the way and Penelope lands hard on the turnpost. Warstein creeps slowly towards Knox, hoping that his movement is not detected, but Knox turns and readies up. The two men trade blows with Knox getting the upper hand.~
Momo: we’ve got ourselves a slobberknocker!!!
Hood: Thanks dollar store Jim Ross.
~ Penelope seems to be clutching her elbow as Knox delivers a piledriver on Warstein. Knox follows that up with a leg drop. He turns to Penelope and sees her clutching her elbow. Knox runs over and hits her with a clothesline. He then begins to stomp on her injured elbow. Warstein meanwhile gets up to his feet slowly and takes the opportunity to climb the ladder while Knox is occupied with Penelope. Showing great agility, Warstein makes it near the stop with ease. Knox finally notices and runs over to the ladder and pushes it over just as Warstein is reaching up for the Amulet. Warstein goes crashing down on the mat. While Knox is watching Warstein fall, Penelope runs from behind and delivers a low blow on Knox. ~
Momo: Penelope just crushed the Family jewels with her good hand.
Hood: Maybe this will stop him from having anymore children.
Momo: I doubt it.
~ Penelope is favoring the injured limb as she turns her attention to Warstein. She delivers a running clothesline with the good arm on Warstein, and follows it up by hooking him and dropping him with a ddt. Knox is up on his feet and grabs the ladder, he calls out to Penelope and then throws the ladder at her. She catches it and throws it back at him. Warstein is on one knee as Knox tossed the ladder back at Penelope. It nearly hits Warstein’s head as Penelope catches it. ~
Momo: They're playing a game of hot potato with a ladder.
Hood: More like Dodgeball…
~ Penelope throws it at Warstein, who catches the ladder and spins around trying to hit Penelope and Knox with it. Penelope ducks under while Knox backs away. Warstein stops spinning and then tosses it to Knox who catches it. Warstein dropkicks the ladder which causes Knox to fall backwards. Knox its the corner as the ladder gets wedged in the corner. Warstein grabs Penelope with her good arm and irish whips her into the ladder. She crashes hard into the metal ladder. Warstein charges and goes for a corner splash, Penelope moves out of the way and Warstein lands on the ladder. He keels over in pain. Knox removes the ladder from the corner and throws it into the center of the ring. He grabs Penelope and smacks her injured elbow, she screams in pain. ~
Momo: Knox looking to take advantage of the injured elbow.
Hood: He’s a smart guy.
~ Knox does more damage to the elbow as he begins to twist away at Penelope’s arm. Warstein meanwhile is back on his feet. Warstein sets the ladder up right in the middle of the ring. Knox glances in his direction. Warstein flips him off. Knox leads Penelope over to the ladder closer to Warstein who is on the second rung. With one hand grasping Penelope’s injured arm he swipes at Warstein with his free hand. Warstein kicks at him. Warstein is on the 3rd rung as Knox grabs a hold of his foot. Warstein kicks away furiously as Knox tries to pull him down. Penelope delivers a kick to Knox’s ribcage and then spins under and has him in a hammerlock from behind. She grabs him with her good arm from behind and delivers a back suplex, Knox still has his hand on Warstein’s foot which causes Warstein to fall off the ladder and onto Knox. ~
Momo: what a counter by Penelope.
Hood: Knox holding on to Warstein’s foot like he holds on to grudges.
~ All 3 combatants are down. Penelope is the first to stir. Using her good arm, she picks herself up using the ropes. Warstein rolls and hops rather quickly. Knox gets on one knee and then stands up. Knox looks over at Warstein, then back at Penelope. He then charges and tries to spear Warstein while looking over at Penelope. Warstein is caught off guard and is tackled to the ground. Penelope sizes up Knox as he gets back up, she charges and goes for a cross body. Knox catches her and turns it into a powerslam. Knox doesn’t see that Warstein is up on his feet. Warstein lunges and hits him with an elbow, followed by a spinning elbow, and then a jumping knee. Knox stumbles backwards, he falls to one knee. Warstein runs forward and hits him with the King’s Crown, which nearly takes his head off. Knox is out, his body is spazzing in the ring. Warstein turns around and Penelope is standing right in his face, she smiles and spits black mist into his face. Warstein furiously tries to wipe the mist off, Penelope grabs one of his hands and then pulls him forward and delivers a devastating knee that knocks him out. ~
Momo: OH MY GOD!!! ALL PENELOPE NEEDS TO DO NOW IS CLIMB THE LADDER AND GRAB THE AMULET!!!
Hood: That’s not as easy as it sounds.
~ With both Knox and Warstein knocked out on the mat, Penelope begins to climb the ladder. Still favoring her injured arm, she uses the good arm to help stabilize as she climbs the ladder rung by rung until she reaches the top. Both Knox and Warstein are still incapacitated as Penelope reaches up for the amulet.~
Momo: SHE’S GONNA DO IT HOOD!! SHE’S GONNA WIN THIS MATCH!!!
Hood: Only time I’ve seen you this excited was when they put out fresh biscuits at the Golden Corral.
~ Knox comes and look up as Penelope reaches for the amulet while Warstein is still out. Penelope starts to flail a bit as she begins to lose balance. She swipes at the hanging amulet and misses, with her other arm rendered useless, she’s unable to stabilize. She swipes at the amulet again and again, misses badly, Penelope is teetering, and eventually is unable to keep her balance and falls forward off the ladder. Knox out of nowhere catches her mid air and has her on his shoulders. He does a spin, then lifts her up and sends her “into the void”. ~
Momo: She had this match won. That injured arm messed her up.
Hood: What’s Knox doing?
~ Knox, grabs Penelope and ties her up on the ring ropes. He then walks over to Warstein who is still not conscious. Knox bends down to grab Warstein, but gets poked in the eyes. ~
Momo: Warstein tricked him again.
Hood: trick or treat!
~ Knox rubs his eyes as Warstein, with mist still on his face gets up walks over to Knox and hooks him under his arm, he flips him over and then delivers the Afterthought! Warstein looks over at Penelope who is still tied up on the ropes. He glances down at the fallen Knox, and then quickly makes his way to the ladder. Warstein is halfway up the ladder as Knox comes to. Knox is one his feet and runs to the ladder as Warstein is three fourths of the way there. Knox begins to climb up from the other side. Warstein is at the top and reaches for the amulet. He tugs at it. Knox finally reaches the top and smacks Warstein hard on the face. Warstein still has a grip on the Amulet. Knox punches Warstein in the gut, then reaches for the Amulet as well. Both men struggle to get it down. Penelope is finally able to break free and sees that both men are at the top. She runs quickly to the ladder and drop kicks it from the side. Both men still have a grip on the Amulet as the ladder tumbles, sending both Knox and Warstein down along with it. ~
Momo: Where’s the amulet Hood? The Amulet is not dangling in the center. It is not dangling in the center!!!!!!
Hood: That sounds weird when you say it two times.
~ Warstein gets up slowly and lifts up the chain that the amulet was attached to, but the Amulet is not on it. Knox gets up slowly, and raises his hand in the arm. In his hand is the shiny Amulet!!!!~

Hood: There’s still the Illuminatus.
Belvedere: HERE IS YOUR WINNER!! MATTHEW KNOX!!!!!
~Over at ring #2, all three competitors remain handcuffed to the cage. As soon as Knox is announced as the winner of the first match, Untitled begins pleading with the referee to unlock their cuffs. He does, and they make a beeline for the ladder that is leaning against the opposite turnbuckle. They begin setting it up in the middle. Both Freedom and Doc are champing at the bit to get going, with Freedom yelling for his referee to unlock his cuffs. The ref motions to his watch while shaking his head.~
MoMo: Freedom is anxious to get loose, but it’s clear Untitled’s 30 second head start isn’t over just yet.
Hood: Thirty seconds is just too long. The match could be over before the others even get in. Who’s stupid idea was this anyway?
MoMo: I believe it was Marcus Welsh’s… one of the three men who sign your pay checks.
Hood: Like I was saying, this idea is amazing!
~Untitled sets the ladder up in the middle of the ring and begins climbing. They are to within a few inches of the Night 10 Amulet when a buzzer goes off. The ref unlocks Freedom’s cuffs and he attempts to rush the ladder, but is knocked off his feet by a giant wave which sends the entire platform and ring bouncing. Untitled slips as a result as both they and the ladder come tumbling down in the middle of the ring.~
MoMo: And just like that, mother nature has evened the odds.
~As the platform steadies, Freedom slides into the ring and picks up the ladder. Untitled begins to stir on the mat, so Freedom slings the ladder at them, smacking them square in the back. Freedom then runs over and begins pummeling Untitled’s back again and again with a series of stomps. With Untitled down, he lifts the ladder back up and turns to place it in the center just as the last buzzer sounds.~
MoMo: And here comes Doctor D’Ville! You know he’s gotta be ready to prove something here for Team PIC after his less than stellar showing on Night 12.
Hood: He’ll have to do more than just prove something here, MoMo. If he doesn’t pull off a win, and specifically knock Freedom out in the process, I hate to even say it…
MoMo: …Team TLS will have secured a victory in the Wit Trials!
Hood: Now I hate you.
MoMo: What’s new?
~Doc is uncuffed and is shot out of the corner like a rocket. Freedom turns just in time to be sent to the mat with a hard clothesline. Doc scoops Paul up and slams him hard onto the ladder. Freedom bridges up as he holds his back in pain. Untitled gets to their feet as Doc rushes them. He grabs them by the mask and rams their face into the steel cage. Untitled’s head bounces off just for Doc to do it again, then again. He releases Untitled, who stumbles backwards. Doc reaches forward, grabbing them and snapping them over with a quick suplex. Untitled hits hard and rolls over onto Freedom, who kicks them off as he begins to stand. Doc goes over to him and throws him into the corner. Doc lays in a few right hands, then a couple of knife edge chops that echo throughout the vastness of Niagara. Doc then climbs the buckles and begins biting at Freedom’s forehead, drawing a trickle of blood in the process. He smiles as Freedom falls to the mat, wiping at the blood from the corner of his mouth.~
MoMo: D’Ville has wasted no time here making his presence felt. He’s absolutely decimated both opponents and is in clear control of this match.
Hood: Yeah, well all that doesn’t matter if he’s not the one standing atop that ladder in the end.
~Doc, as if he heard Hood somehow, lifts the ladder and tries to steady it in the ring as the waves once again toss the platform to and fro. With his focus on the ladder, he fails to see Untitled make it to their feet in the corner behind him. Freedom also begins to gather himself, and the two stand nearly simultaneously. They each share a glance at each other, then at Doc who has made it to the first step on the ladder. With a nod, both Freedom and Untitled run toward Doc, sending Doc crashing to the mat with tandem drop kicks. The ladder gets caught up in the cage and hangs at an angle. Freedom high fives Untitled but is kicked in the back of the head when he turns his back on them.~
MoMo: Untitled with the savage move, first helping Freedom, then kicking him in the back of the head.
Hood: That’s payback from his attack on them earlier.
~Untitled shifts attention back to Doc. They grab him by the head and smash their left knee into his nose. Doc recoils as Untitled quickly turns to see Freedom rushing at them. Untitled drops down, tripping him up with a drop toe hold. Freedom’s body falls on top of Doc. Untitled looks to disconnect the ladder from the cage, finally managing to wriggle it free. Instead of attempting to climb, however, they go to the closest corner and climb the turnbuckle holding the ladder in the process. They leap off, riding the ladder all the way down onto both Freedom and Doc!~
MoMo: What a collision of flesh and steel! Untitled looks shaken, but Freedom and D’Ville are in some major pain!
Hood: That piece of art has bugged me from the beginning of this thing, but there’s no denying they’re willing to put their body on the line every time they come out.
~Untitled gathers to their feet, holding their midsection. They bend to grab the ladder, which is now slightly dented in the middle, and start to set it up in the ring. It’s wobbly, partially due to its damage as well as the crashing waves as the ring continues to hurdle toward the falls. Untitled starts to climb when they are suddenly distracted by a sound in the distance.~
MoMo: Untitled seems to be distracted by… is that a helicopter?
Hood: Sure sounds like it.
~Sure enough, in the far distance a dot in the sky appears to be moving toward the action. With Untitled distracted, Freedom gathers himself and begins climbing the other side of the ladder. It doesn’t take long for Untitled to come to their senses and resume climbing as well. Both competitors are near the top when Freedom swings wildly and lands a blow to Untitled’s ear. They nearly buckle, but come back with a punch of their own. Freedom’s head snaps back and he loses his grip with his left hand. He manages to hold on with his right as Untitled takes one more step toward the amulet.~
MoMo: This is it! Untitled is about to take the victory here for Team Welsh!
~Doc D’Ville shakes the cobwebs off in the corner and gets to his feet to see Untitled mere inches away from victory with Freedom hanging onto the ladder for dear life. Doc quickly jumps to the top turnbuckle and leaps off toward Untitled head first. The crown of his head crashes into Untitled’s ribs, sending them, Paul Freedom, and the ladder crashing into the steel cage. Doc is quick to get up, but stumbles backward into the corner trying to shake off the cobwebs. He looks out at the destruction and begins to laugh. He takes the ladder and wedges it between the top and middle ropes. He then turns to Untitled. He picks them, holding them across his chest. He turns and hoists them over his head, smashing them into the ladder with a fallaway slam! Untitled crumbles to the mat as Doc lifts Freedom up in the same position. He goes for another fallaway slam, but Freedom turns midair and lands on his feet. He charges at Doc from behind and smashes his face to the mat with a bulldog. Doc bounces up as Freedom also gains his footing. Freedom goes for a hard clothesline but Doc ducks, then pushes Freedom forward and face first into the ladder. Doc drops to his knee as he surveys the damage to the back of his head.~
MoMo: These three are all over the place, Hood. Just when you think one has the advantage, one or both of the others comes along to spoil things.
Hood: And somehow or another, Doc D’Ville manages to come out ahead of the others. This might just be his match to lose.
~The sound of the helicopter seems to grow as Doc pauses briefly to clock the dot, now accompanied by what appears to be a headlight of some sort, still far off in the distance. The waves seem to have picked up a bit, perhaps in part because of the copter’s presence. D’Ville knows not to dally too long, and instead turns back to the carnage. With the ladder still wedged, he lifts Freedom off the mat first as Untitled begins to pull themself up in the corner behind the ladder. Doc throws Freedom in the far corner. He rushes at him and nails him with a spear to the midsection. He then hits a few shoulder blocks before grabbing Freedom’s arm. He whips him toward the ladder, but Freedom reverses. He sends Doc barreling toward the ladder, but Doc hops up onto the ladder like a cat. He looks as if he’s somehow outsmarted Freedom, but quickly looks forward to see Untitled perched atop the buckle. Untitled somersaults off the top, catching Doc by the head and planting him with a reverse DDT, dislodging the ladder in the process!~
MoMo: And just like that, things are even again!
~Freedom surveys the carnage, then turns toward the helicopter which now seems less than a mile or so away and coming in hot. The waves have picked up, and Freedom steadies himself with the cage. As the waves dissipate, he looks to Untitled who is closest and lifts them up onto his shoulder. He runs toward the cage and throws them like a lawn dart face first into the steel. Untitled bounces off but lands on their feet. Freedom rushes forward with a clothesline, but Untitled manages to roll backwards just in time. They get to their feet just as Freedom turns around. He rushes forward but Untitled leaps into the air with a leap frog, then again rolls backwards as Freedom bounces off the ropes. Untitled kicks up with both legs to Freedom’s midsection sending him flying into the air. His body rotates forward across the ring as the small of his back slams right across the ladder! Freedom screams out in pain as Untitled has to reach for the ring rope to keep from falling over. The waves are causing significant damage at this point, and the sound of the helicopter is near deafening.~
Momo: (shouting) Even from our vantage point, the noise is incredible. I have no idea why this helicopter is here but its presence is causing a major disruption to all three competitors.
~Untitled looks to the sky but again can’t make out much more than a light in the darkening sky. They turn their attention back to the ring and pick the ladder up. The base is bent and one of the rungs near the top is hanging loose on one side. They try to set the ladder up in the middle of the ring but it leans to the left. Still, Untitled begins to climb the wobbly ladder as D’Ville stands. He stumbles over to the ladder and pulls at Untitled’s leg. They kick at Doc several times, finally hitting him in the head to get him to release his hold. This allows Untitled to take one more step toward the amulet. Doc shakes his head, then reaches for their leg again but it’s too high for him. Instead, He begins climbing the same side as Untitled. As he nears them, he begins smashing them in the back with forearm blasts, each one landing in the small of the back or kidney area. Untitled stops climbing to fend off their foe, but the shift causes the already leaning ladder to tip. Both wrestlers jump off before the ladder tumbles into the cage. Doc crashes to the mat while Untitled manages to hop onto the steel cage like a cat. Across the ring, Paul Freedom is to his feet. He runs up underneath Untitled and hooks them for a massive powerbomb! Freedom staggers as he surveys the damage.~
Hood: And now Paul Freedom is in control? I can’t keep up anymore!
MoMo: It’s still anyone’s match at this point, though I have to wonder with the wind from the helicopter affecting these waves and the only ladder in the match continuing to be deformed how anyone is actually going to reach the amulet!
~Freedom sees Doc D’Ville lying in the middle of the ring with Untitled by his side. He rolls Untitled atop D’Ville and begins climbing the cage. The waves cause him to lose his footing more than once, but he finally steadies himself in the corner and stands with his hands outstretched to keep his balance.~
MoMo: What the hell is Paul Freedom doing? A good gust of wind could not only knock him out of this match, but out of the ring and into the river!
Hood: Go big or go home, right!
~Freedom stares at the amulet but seems to pause, almost as if he realizes it’s too far to reach. He then looks down at his stacked opponents. He turns his head toward the falls which are now closer than ever, then leaps off the top of the cage. His body rotates 450 degrees as his knees crush both Untitled and Doc D’Ville beneath him! All three competitors are writhing in pain as they roll around the mat.~
MoMo: That was one Impressive Display of Agility!
Hood: A 450 splash from the top of a cage in the middle of a floating river onto not one, but two opponents? It was far more than that!
MoMo: That’s what he calls the move! And it was beyond impressive, though perhaps misguided. Freedom needs to secure that amulet to win the match, and while he may have inflicted pain on his opponents, he’s also in a tremendous amount of it himself.
~The four corners of the ring are filled with a disfigured ladder, Paul Freedom, Untitled, and Doctor Louis D’Ville. The competitors, having gotten to their feet but way worse for the wear, all stagger toward the middle of the ring as the rocking intensifies. Doc swings at Freedom and connects. Then Untitled lands a forearm to Doc. They turn just as Freedom connects with an openhand smash to the neck. This exchange continues two more times, as each opponent hits another with everything they have. As Doc goes to hit Freedom one more time, Freedom ducks and pushes Doc toward the ladder. Untitled grabs Freedom by the hand and whips him in the same direction. Freedom’s body sandwiches Doc between him and the ladder. He turns as Untitled musters enough for a running start. They leap into the air for a crossbody block! Freedom and Doc crumble to the mat. The ladder falls on both adding insult to injury. Untitled reaches for the ladder and pulls it off of both men but tosses it to the side. They grab Freedom and twist him around, hooking in a Scorpion Ankle Lock! Freedom writhes in pain as he grabs for his ankle to no avail. Doc stands and lunges toward Untitled. They drop Freedom and hit an atomic drop to Doc. Untitled sweeps his legs and rolls him over, hooking him with a Scorpion Ankle Lock of his own!~
Hood: What is this idiot doing? There aren’t any submissions in a ladder match!
MoMo: But there is climbing! And that’s going to be hard to do with a broken ankle.
~Untitled continues to wrench more and more on Doc’s ankle as the waves again intensify. They lose their balance and stumble forward, breaking the hold in the process. Back to their feet, they look up to see the spotlight now likely a hundred or so feet away. The noise of the propellers is deafening. Now more windy than ever, Untitled again looks to the ladder. They set it up, this time attempting to adjust for its lopsidedness. They climb carefully, attempting to keep an eye on both Doc and Freedom who are fighting to get to their feet amidst the ankle pain and wind. Untitled nearly falls off the ladder but steadies themselves, taking another step toward the top, then another. Finally, they are within reach of the amulet. They reach up, only to be blinded by the light from the helicopter. They cover their eyes just as the helicopter comes into clear view and rotates to its side.~
MoMo: Do you see that, Hood? That helicopter has #FREEUNTITLED painted on the side!
Hood: What the hell?
MoMo: And that’s… no, it can’t be. Hood, do you see who’s hanging out the side of that chopper?
Hood: Son of a--
MoMo: It’s VHODKA BLACK!!!
~True enough, Vhodka leans out of the passenger side of the helicopter, her hair flailing in the wind. She looks down as her and Untitled lock eyes.~
Untitled: (yelling) What are you doing?
Vhodka: Rescuing you!
~Untitled looks confused. They turn to the ring as both Freedom and Doc are nearly standing, then at the amulet, then back to Vhodka. They shake their head “no”. Vhodka persists, the helicopter now hovering over the ring. She throws out a rope ladder that dangles mere feet from Untitled. Untitled again shakes their head, but stops when a head pokes itself out above Vhodka. It’s Chiaki Ishikawa, Untitled’s longtime friend. They hadn’t seen each other for almost ten years, but reconnected just last week. Untitled is conflicted.~
Chiaki: (shouting) Paris!
Untitled: Chiaki!? What are you doing?
~Back in the ring, Doc D’Ville is the first to move, heading to push the ladder over but he’s met with a spear from the side by Paul Freedom. Freedom gets to his knees and looks up as Untitled meets his gaze. Freedom nods. Untitled looks back at Chiaki in the chopper.~
Chiaki: I’m here to take you home! Rentre à la maison, Paris! (Come home, Paris!)
~Untitled says to themself “Maison.” Home. With a nod to Chiaki, they reach out for the rope ladder, and once secured, leap off of the ladder in the ring and out over the ocean.~
MoMo: I can’t believe what I’m seeing!
Hood: Untitled is choosing to leave the match! They’re giving up their chance at the amulet… for what?
MoMo: Friendship? Love? A chance at freedom? Take your pick, Hood. All I know is we’re seeing #FREEUNTITLED live and in person! The piece is taking their talents home!
~Paul Freedom begins to climb the wobbly ladder as Untitled nears the top of the rope ladder. Freedom reaches the final rung and steadies himself as the wind from the helicopter nearly topples the ladder over. Untitled says something inaudible to Vhodka and Chiaki before climbing back down the rope ladder. Their gaze meets Freedom’s atop the ladder.~
Untitled: La maison ou l'amulette ? Les deux! (Home or the amulet? Both!)
~A confused Paul Freedom looks on as Untitled kicks her leg out against his ladder. As if in slow motion, we see the surprised look of Paul Freedom as he falls backwards with the ladder as it crashes into the steel cage. Freedom’s body bounces off the steel, then hurdles down toward the mat, eventually landing right beside of Doc D’Ville. Untitled looks back to Vhodka and Chiaki before reaching out and grabbing the Wit Amulet!~
MoMo: I can’t believe what I just saw!
Hood: Wait, what? I thought they chose love over winning.
MoMo: They chose both, Hood. And now Untitled and Team Welsh have secured victory in Niagara Falls!
~Vhodka and Chiaki reach down to help Untitled into the chopper as it flies away. Almost immediately the waves impacting the ring begin to dissipate. The referee rushes to Freedom and Doc to survey the damage. Medical soon joins them, and they begin the extrication of the two competitors as the ring continues its path toward the falls.~
MoMo: The action in this one was nonstop, and perhaps to everyone’s surprise, Untitled came away with their first victory of these Wit Trials, earning 5 points for Team Welsh.
Hood: And more importantly, because Paul Freedom was the closest to getting the amulet himself, he earned 3 points for Team TLS. And you know what that means…
MoMo: I do, indeed. With 3 points, Paul Freedom has clinched the team portion of the Wit Trials for Team TLS. That means, regardless of the outcomes of the next two matches, we’ll be seeing Shawn Warstein, Paul Freedom, Cyph3r, and Matt Meyhu in The Great Illuminatus.
Hood: They’ll be joining the likes of The Triumvirate, Catalina Cortes, Alexander Raven, Thaddeus and Sahara Duke, and Sebastian Everett-Bryce!
MoMo: Don’t forget Matt Knox, who thanks to Marcus Welsh’s deal, secured his own key to the Illuminatus earlier this evening.
Hood: I didn’t forget, I was just hoping that was a bad dream.
MoMo: It was a dream come true for Matt Knox, that’s for sure. But the dream is still alive for two other competitors this evening. Even though Team TLS has the Wit Trials secured, both Corey Black and Kieran King can still gain their own key to the Illuminatus with a win in tonight’s main event.
Hood: The pressure to go into the Illuminatus may be over for Meyhu, but he still has the chance to become the only wrestler in TRIAD history to go undefeated in one set of trials. Vhodka couldn’t do it. Cortes couldn’t do it. But my boy Meyhu’s gonna get it done.
MoMo: That’s a tall task with those opponents, but before we get there, we can’t overlook our next contest. Inside of a cell just a few hundred yards away from the ring from the previous match, Sean Parker, Cypher, and Plethora the Perilous are locked inside of their respective cells inside the cell awaiting the official start of their match. Because of Untitled’s win here, Plethora gets a thirty second advantage as he aims to scale the cell to secure the Wit Amulet secured to the ceiling of the cage with barbed wire.
Hood: Pleth might need a 30 minute head start if he has to climb that cell.
MoMo: Knowing Plethora the Perilous, he’ll have something up his sleeve, I’m sure.

~As soon as the helicopter begins to fly away, the referee turns to Plethora’s cage and unlocks it. Plethora steps forward and raises his mighty scythe as if to hit the referee who cowers in fear. Instead, Plethora turns his attention to the cell of Sean Parker. Parker flinches as Plethora swings the scythe, breaking Parker’s lock off his cage. He walks around the ring apron and does the same for Cypher’s cage. Plethora then walks up the steel steps and stands in the middle of the ring, holding the mighty scythe in the air.~
MoMo: Well I guess we got the answer to what Plethora would do with a 30 second advantage: absolutely nothing!
Hood: I think the message is pretty clear, MoMo. Plethora knows that’s not enough time for him to scale the cell, so why just stand around waiting for his opponents to join the foray? I’ve got a feeling someone may die tonight, and I think I’m maybe kinda here for it.
~Parker looks at Cypher. These two have a heated past, but standing outside the ring look up into it at the daunting task that awaits, it seems they may, for the first time, be on the same page. Nearly simultaneously, they both slide under the bottom rope. Plethora readies to swing the scythe down toward them but the referee grabs it from behind. That moment of hesitation allows Parker and Cypher to both hop to their feet, and in tandem, hit Plethora with a double drop kick. He stumbles backwards but remains on his feet. The scythe, however, falls out of his hands and into the referee’s, who immediately exits the ring. He places the scythe under the ring apron. Plethora is pissed. He lunges forward for a double clothesline but both of his opponents duck, then hit another double drop kick, this time to the back of Plethora’s head. He falls forward into the corner, but continues to stay on his feet.~
MoMo: We’ve seen it time and again, but Plethora is just a beast to take down.
Hood: Very few in history have been able to do it, but here in TRIAD it’s become a more common occurrence. Do you think ol’ Biff has lost a step?
MoMo: All the greats have to come to grips with father time getting the better of them. I just don’t know if Bifford’s there just yet.
~Parker attempts to capitalize but is immediately blindsided by Cypher with a forearm shot to the face. Parker stumbles sideways. Cypher grabs him and whips him across the ring. Parker bounces off but ducks a Cypher clothesline. He hits the other side of the ropes and ducks Cypher’s back elbow attempt. One more bounce off and Parker comes in hot with a cross body block! Cypher hits hard to the mat but hops up quickly, turning straight into an arm drag, then another. This time Parker holds on and begins driving his right knee into the armpit of Cypher. He then turns his attention to Cypher’s rib cage, dropping knee after knee onto the area until Plethora comes from behind with a blast to the back of Parker’s head. Parker releases Cypher’s arm and reaches for his head as he shouts out in pain. Plethora scoops him off the mat and slams him with a thunderous thrust onto Cypher’s back. He then picks Cypher up, slamming him onto Parker.~
MoMo: And just like that, Plethora is back in control!
~Plethora pauses for a moment, scanning for his scythe. With it nowhere in sight, he lifts Parker back to his feet and thrusts him into the corner. Plethora then plows into him, smashing his entire body in the corner. He turns to Cypher, now to his feet. Cypher lunges forward but Plethora catches him by the throat and thrusts him backward into the opposite corner. Like Parker, Plethora smashes into Cypher with the full force of his entire body. Both Cypher and Parker slide to their butts in opposite corners. Plethora casually steps over Cypher as he walks down the ring steps to the outside, then pulls Cypher’s body out and drapes him across his right shoulder. Plethora slings Cypher’s body forward like a lawn dart, his face smashing into the steel cell. Cypher’s body bounces backward ferociously into Plethora’s arms. He hoists Cypher onto his shoulder again, and repeats the onslaught. This time Cypher’s body falls limp at Plethora’s feet as blood begins to ooze from his forehead. Plethora reaches down to lift Cypher but stops momentarily as out of the corner of his eye, Sean Parker comes flying off the top rope with a corkscrew somersault. Plethora catches him mid-air and slams him hard into the cage as well. Parker’s body falls on top of Cypher as Plethora enjoys his handiwork.~
MoMo: I don’t know what to say. Plethora is taking everything that both Cypher and Sean Parker have to give and throwing it right back in their faces. I’m sorry I doubted him.
Hood: You should be. Plethora’s just now in his prime!
MoMo: But you just--
Hood: Shut up, MoMo. You’re embarrassing yourself.
~Plethora turns his attention to the referee and yells “Where’s my scythe?” The ref pretends at first that he doesn’t know, but the next step Plethora takes in his direction he immediately points under the ring. Plethora bends over to lift the ring skirt when he’s hit from behind with a drop kick from Parker. Plethora doesn’t flinch, instead turning to face his competitor. Plethora swings at Parker but Parker ducks and falls to the ground on all fours behind Plethora. Cypher is up. He wipes blood from his eyes and leaps into the air, kicking Plethora square in the face and causing him to stumble right into Parker. The big man flails his arms as slowly, but surely, he trips over Parker and slams into the floor. The entirety of the structure begins to shake as a huge wave from the other side swells over the ring, the cell, and its inhabitants. The platform nearly capsizes as everyone scrambles for something to hold onto. Eventually the ring steadies, but not until every last inch of the area is soaked. Cypher screams as the saltwater mixes in with the wound over his eye. Parker seizes the opportunity and throws Cypher back into the ring. He stands Cypher in the ring and takes off running, jumps, and lands a 720 spinning roundhouse kick right to the side of Cypher’s head!~
MoMo: That’s Bloody Tears!! One of Parker’s trademark maneuvers!
Hood: I’m always impressed at his athleticism. I just wish he wasn’t such a little bitch.
~With Cypher down and Plethora still trying to get up on the outside, Parker slides out of the ring and begins climbing the cage. He takes his time as the platform has yet to fully come to rest and still teeters in the water. As he nears the top of the cage, Cypher begins to stir inside the ring. Plethora is up to a knee on the other side. Cypher looks up at Parker, then out to Plethora. He bounces off the opposite ropes and launches his body under the top rope and onto Plethora, sending the giant backwards into the steel structure. The impact causes yet another shift in the platform, and another huge swell engulfs the structure from Parker’s side. He’s immediately caught up in the wave as his body is thrust through the air and into the ring. He tries to roll to limit the impact, but lands awkwardly on his left ankle in the process. He immediately grabs the ankle as the water cascades over him and out the other side of the cell.~
MoMo: We’re witnessing sheer pandemonium here, Hood! Every time someone gets Plethora to the ground, his body weight effectively causes a tsunami!
Hood: His girth is the great equalizer in a match like this. He may not be able to climb the cage, but if he falls down every time the others attempt it, they’ll be knocked off just like Parker just was. It’s genius!
MoMo: So you’re saying Plethora is intentionally getting his ass handed to him so his opponents can’t climb?
Hood: Precisely.
~Cypher clings to one of the ring posts as the last of the wave clears. He sees Parker grabbing at his ankle and immediately pounces. He begins kicking at the ankle and taunting Parker. He grabs the injured ankle and begins twisting, first in small, quick turns, finally settling on holding it in a prolonged contortion. Parker screams in pain. He attempts to kick at Cypher with his other leg, but the shifty competitor is easily able to dodge them. He drops down and grapevines Parker’s leg, allowing for even more torque on the ankle. Parker slaps the mat repeatedly, his cries traveling for miles across the great expanse of Niagara. Cypher releases his hold briefly, only to begin driving elbows into it to further the pain. Once satisfied his work has been done, Cypher releases Parker and stands over him. He again wipes at the blood trickle over his eye before turning to clock Plethora finally traversing the ring steps headed his way. Cypher bounces off the ropes on the other side and lunges at Plethora who catches him easily by the throat. He hoists Cypher high into the air and throws him out of the ring and into the cell with a modified choke slam! The back of Cypher’s head smashes against the steel as his body falls limp onto the ring apron. Plethora steps over the top rope and scoops Parker off of the mat. He places Parker’s head between his legs and lifts his body into the air. Plethora jumps up and slams Parker’s head face first into the mat with a jumping piledriver!!!~
MoMo: THE BIFF END!! Holy Toledo I didn’t see that coming!
Hood: Parker is dead.
MoMo: Plethora the Perilous just hit Shawn Parker with his infamous finishing maneuver, The Biff End! I can’t believe what I just saw!
~The impact of the Biff End causes the ring to wobble again, but the waves don’t come into the ring this time. Plethora, now on his knees, seizes the opportunity as he rolls out of the ring and lifts up the ring skirt once more, once again producing the Mighty Scythe to the equation! Cypher, though groggy, sees Plethora coming at him with the scythe and does the only thing he can do: climb! He reaches three, maybe four rungs above Plethora’s head when the first swing of the scythe comes. Cypher barely gets his left leg out of the way, but isn’t so lucky with swing number two. It grazes Cypher’s right calf and blood immediately begins to pour out. He shouts in pain, but knows staying stationary will spell certain disaster. With his good leg he begins hopping upward, pulling with everything he has in his upper arms. Plethora’s third swing of the scythe would be his last, for now… as Cypher has finally made it high enough to be safe from the attack. He pauses to survey the damage to his calf, but the wound is covered in blood. He turns his attention high above the ring, to the top of the cell where the amulet is safely guarded by a thick swath of barbed wire.~
MoMo: Plethora may have killed Sean Parker with that Biff End, but there’s not denying he was going for straight up first degree murder of Cypher there.
Hood: Is it really first degree murder if the guy you’re trying to kill has illegally leaked nude photos of his ex-girlfriend, kidnapped a kid, and blackmailed a totally real Supreme Court Justice?
MoMo: Even douche bags deserve to live, Hood.
Hood: Douche is right. The guy spent a year at Alcatraz and didn’t even bring me something from the gift shop!
~Plethora looks up as Cypher continues to climb, albeit slowly and on on leg. Drops of blood dot the apron and continue to trickle down Cypher’s leg. In the ring, Parker has finally started to stir. Plethora once again begins his methodical pace up the steel steps, scythe in hand. He steps over the top rope just as Parker gets to a knee. Plethora raises the scythe and swings downward, but Parker rolls out of the way. With the scythe down at Plethora’s side, Parker jumps, putting every ounce of his 215 pound frame into the back edge of the scythe. In doing so, it causes the other end of the scythe to slam forward, right into Plethora’s face. The behemoth drops the handle as he staggers backwards. Parker, gingerly on his injured ankle, leads into the air and takes Plethora down to the mat with a reverse rana that he calls “Raidenrana”. With Plethora on the mat, Parker looks up to see Cypher nearing the top of the cage. Cypher, almost like Spiderman, shifts his body in a way that he’s now clinging to the roof of the cage on all fours upside down! Parker quickly slides out of the ring, pausing when he hits his ankle the wrong way, and begins to scale the other side of the cage.~
MoMo: Cypher is upside down like a cat at the top of the cell and Parker is in hot pursuit! Plethora may very well be knocked cold in the center of the ring!
Hood: I’ve said from the beginning that Plethora might have lost a step, and it’s clear here I was right, as always.
MoMo: …
~Parker, on his good leg, makes quick work of the cell on his side as he reaches the top of the steel structure. Cypher is slowly, but surely inching closer to the amulet tucked beneath the barbed wire. Parker adjusts his body to match Cypher’s, and he’s soon also affixed to the top of the cage in cat-like fashion. A few seconds pass as both men inch closer to the amulet. Cypher is the first to arrive, but after careful examination, appears to have a hard time knowing how to go about retrieving it. Parker reaches the same spot, and seemingly the same confusion. Plethora stirs in the ring below as the two competitors hang by their literal limbs above. Cypher may not know how to get the amulet, but he knows he doesn’t want Parker to get it. He attempts to swing, but nearly loses his grip in the process. Parker knows better than to try something upside down like this. He, instead, attempts to stick his hand into the barbed wire. Seeing this, Cypher lets go again with one hand, this time hitting it up into Parker’s forearm. Parker’s entire hand gets caught in the barbed wire. He shouts and winces as the razors dig deeper into his skin. Blood quickly covers his hand and the amulet as it falls freely to the ring below. Plethora is to a knee when he sees the trickle dripping in front of his eyes. He stands and looks up to see his opponents so close to the ultimate prize in this match. He looks to his left, then to his right, realizing he’s in a cage with no hope to climb the cell. He thinks for a moment, then turns to the turnbuckle and begins to climb.~
MoMo: What on God’s green earth is Plethora doing here? Top rope maneuvers aren’t his game!
Hood: In a match like this with so much at stake, you gotta take a risk at some point, right?
~Plethora reaches the second buckle and pauses, sweat likely pouring off of his hooded face. His legs wobble, but he steadies himself with his hands as he takes that last fateful step to the top buckle. The ring begins to vibrate as the tension on every one of those ropes can be felt. Te big man stands, his back to the ring and opens both hands out to the side, slowly falling backwards. The impact snaps every rope instantaneously. The cell creaks and crashes from all angles. The tsunami wave somehow hits the structure from every direction as the entire ring, platform, and cell are engulfed in thousands of gallons of water. The cage comes crashing down as the platform nearly topples to the left, then to the right, then to the left again.~
MoMo: Plethora has done the unthinkable! In an attempt to stop his opponents from retrieving the amulet, he has thrown himself off the top rope and into the ring.
Hood: They say the captain has to go down with his ship and Plethora’s doing exactly that here. If he can’t have the amulet, no one can!
~Water, waves, wind… mangled steel as far as the eye can see. Somehow, the platform has stayed afloat, and the ring intact despite the ropes and turnbuckles washing out into the river. Most of the cell has followed suit leaving behind fragments of chain link and rivets. Inside the ring, all three competitors lay face up. The amulet has somehow managed to land in the center, still encased with barbed wire. The referee, who hid under the ring during the whole ordeal, has crawled back out and checks on each wrestler to make sure they’re still alive. Somewhat satisfied, he allows the match to continue.~
MoMo: This is unbelievable! The ring has somehow survived, as have the three competitors. Sean Parker, Cypher, and Plethora the Perilous have gone to hell and back in this match and now each is mere feet away from securing the third amulet of the night.
Hood: I never thought Plethora had a chance in a match like this, but here we are. It’s his for the taking.
~Plethora is the first to stir. He rolls over onto his stomach and slowly opens his eyes. Sean Parker coughs up a huge amount of water and rolls over onto his stomach as well. As his eyes adjust to the carnage, he surveys his hand to see it still covered in blood. Cypher has begun to stir as well. The three of them, almost simultaneously, realize that the amulet is almost within reach. Each man has been battered, beaten, and bruised beyond recognition. But this is it. This is what separates the men from the boys. Plethora crawls first, followed by Cypher, then Parker. Plethora reaches out for the amulet. He gets a finger on the barbed wire but his hand is knocked away by Parker. Cypher reaches, this time grabbing onto the barbed wire. Plethora tires again but both Cypher and Parker kick him away. Parker grabs the other side as now he and Cypher form a makeshift tug of war on the ground. Plethora again reaches out, this time grabbing the barbed wire from a third side. All three grip into the barbed wire with all the strength left in their bodies, each hand now covered in blood. Each refuses to give an inch causing the razors to dig even deeper.~
MoMo: They all have ahold of the barbed wire! Who is going to break it free and secure the amulet?
~Cypher uses his other hand and begins to pry a small hole he might be able to slide his hand through. Plethora tries to stop him but his body is at an angle that won’t allow it. Parker sees Cypher’s hand pressing through, the tip of his finger now touching the amulet. It’s now or never. Parker thrusts his already cut hand into the barbed wire, each second of pressing causing the razors to scrape down the top of his hand and into his forearm. He cries in pain as he pushes himself past limits he never knew he had. Whether it’s the blood, the pain, or perhaps both, Parker retracts his arm and passes out. His hand is a bloody mess and falls limp. As it opens, the amulet appears.~
MoMo: It’s over! He’s done it! Sean Parker has done the unthinkable! He’s defeated both Cypher and Plethora the Perilous and has secured the third amulet for Team PIC!!

~We cut from Sean Parker having his hand raised inside a floating cell to THE CUBE. It floats quickly down the river, heading toward the falls. King, Black, and Meyhu are all cuffed to ring ropes, staring up at the top of the CUBE. A square hole cut out with the amulet secured at the top, outside the thick, plexiglass device. A giant, plexiglass cube that surrounds the ring. There’s a rope that hangs from the square cut so wrestlers can pull themselves up. No room to fall outside...each side flush up against the ropes and ring posts. The four wrestlers seated in their corners with one hand cuffed to the ropes. With a little bit of TRIAD MAGIC, Tony appears in the ring to ref this match~
MoMo: Did somebody say TRIAD MAGIC?
Hood: *waves hands around magically*
~The bell rings and we’re underway! The fans lining the river and all around the world go wild. Tony rushes over and he unlocks Kieran King! Meyhu prepares for an attack. But King charges into Corey’s corner and kicks him in the face! King unleashes a flurry of violence onto King that would make Skeletor go “Whoa, bro, chill down.”~
MoMo: King going right after Black. Thought he might’ve gone after Meyhu.
Hood: Same. Team Welsh did win the first two matches so maybe he’s feeling that classic WELSH VIBE in the air tonight
MoMo: Just like Phil Collins
Hood: Besides, there might be a bit of that competitor calling inside of him wanting to prove to everyone and, possibly himself, that he can beat Meyhu.
MoMo: Careful what you wish for.
Hood: Tell me about it. I wished for a paying gig and I got stuck sitting next to you.
~King is finished. Black is out. He looks over at Meyhu...Meyhu braces for impact but King looks up to the rope. We’ve got about 10 seconds left on the clock. Yea, it was either a super quick beating or a very slow clock. King jumps up and snatches the bottom of the rope. He swings a bit as the clock gets down to five seconds. Tony creeps near Meyhu with the key. King manages to slow the swinging momentum so he can get a good enough grip to climb. The clock expires and Tony unlocks Meyhu! Meyhu gets free and hurries to his feet...Kieran, though, seems to have anticipated this and leaps off the rope, wrapping both legs around Meyhu’s head and throwing him to the side with a Hurricanrana!! Meyhu’s face slams into the side of the CUBE! He staggers back, stunned. King pops backs to his feet and delivers a spinning heel kick to the back of Meyhu’s head, knocking The Marvel to his knees. King hits the ropes, bounces off and nearly takes Meyhu’s head off with a flying knee! Meyhu falls back onto the mat, rocked. King returns to his feet and hears the sound of boos coming from the shore...he smiles and looks up at the rope~
MoMo: He anticipated it all. Acted like he was in a precarious position only to take advantage of a rushed Meyhu.
Hood: That’s smart wrestling. Guy could have this locked up.
MoMo: Definitely a sense of urgency as we float closer and closer to the falls.
Hood: Don’t say WE like we’re out there. Ain’t no way in hell I’d agree to call this shit on some type of floating announce table.
MoMo: So YOU’RE the one who vetoed the idea. Look at you, fun police.
~King jumps up and secures the rope once more. This time he climbs with more of a purpose. The ring rides atop the waves as the water starts to get a little choppy the closer we near the falls. The rope sways...King has to hold on, halting his momentum. Meyhu rolls over onto all fours, holding his head. The ring stabilizes and King continues to climb. Meyhu crawls to the ropes and pulls himself up...he sees King halfway up the rope. He hurries forward, grabs the bottom of the rope and slings it to the side, sending King swaying and slamming into the top of the CUBE. Meyhu grabs the rope and shakes it...King tries to hold on but Meyhu shakes and shakes...King’s grip loosens and he falls! Meyhu catches him on his back and falls to the mat with a Samoan Drop!! Huge impact! The fans pop~
MoMo: Tremendous impact there from Meyhu.
Hood: Those shoulders were strong enough to carry an entire company. King ain’t nothing.
MoMo: The water is getting choppier as we get nearer the falls. It’s going to make climbing that rope increasingly difficult.
Hood: Not if you aced gym class. Meyhu was the king of PE.
~Meyhu kips up! He holds his head a bit, showing signs of lingered suffering from king’s initial attack. He looks over at Corey. Corey is out. He’s cuffed. Tony didn’t even bother releasing him so lets’ all just forget he exists for the rest of the match. Meyhu looks down at King and he feels the ring shake and shift...he looks at the water surrounding them and can see what appears to be the end of the line in the distance. Most wrestlers might think “Ah, they’ll rescue us before we go over” but Meyhu’s all-too-familiar with Welsh. If this match doesn’t end in time they are going over. He reaches for the rope and starts to climb~
MoMo: No sense in wasting time with any holds. Or mat work. Lives are literally in the balance here.
Hood: As the great narrator just told us. Meyhu knows the powers that be here in TRIAD will let them fall to their deaths if they don’t finish in time.
MoMo: I mean they had the other wrestlers fight a dragon so...yea.
Hood: Rawr
MoMo: What the heck is that?
Hood: My dragon voice.
~Meyhu has a little more weight to pull up than King. But, thankfully, Meyhu has Marvelous arms and shoulders (as we just established) so he’s doing just fine. I’m not really sure why I wasted so many words laying out what was previously established. Meyhu gets halfway up the rope as the ring hits a big crest in the water, sending the entire structure down and up in a violent thrust. Meyhu loses grip with one hand and hangs by the other. King rolls to the ropes and pulls himself up. He sits up on the top rope...stands and springboards off with a dropkick into Meyhu’s ribcage!! Meyhu loses his grip and he falls HARD onto the mat!! King lands safely...he starts to get up but the ring rocks again, so he stays on one knee to maintain his balance~
MoMo: Great job by Kieran King to take advantage of the elements.
Hood: Dude’s situational awareness is off the charts.
MoMo: He’s got a great pokerface.
Hood: On a scale of one to ten how hot do you think Lady Gaga is?
MoMo: It’s 2024, Hood. I’m not going to debate the ‘hotness’ of women.
Hood: So...less than a 5, then?
MoMo: I didn’t say that!
~Once the ring has stabilized, King rises and snares the rope. He looks down and sees Meyhu on all fours, reaching for his back. King backs up, holding the rope. Meyhu gets to one knee. King grips the rope...Meyhu gets to his feet and King jumps up, using the rope for momentum as he shoots through the air and lets go...he flies into Meyhu with both knees, slamming the back of Meyhu’s head into the plexiglass wall!!! Huge impact as Meyhu drops to his knees before falling face first on the mat. The fans surrounding the scene boo. King drops to one knee, shaking off the impact of the move before rising to his feet and snaring the rope as it sways back and forth. He looks up and begins to climb~
MoMo: Great usage of the rope there. Again, King’s awareness comes in handy.
Hood: Handy as in hand job.
MoMo: No, handy as in helpful.
Hood: Handjobs are helpful.
~King scales. The ring shakes. He holds on, preventing a terrible fall. Meyhu pushes up and gets to his knees. He remains rocked. The ring stabilizes and King continues to climb. He nears the top. His hands reach up toward the squared hole and he grips it. He’s preparing to pull himself out of the cube’s interior. The final Wit Amulet is only a few feet away. A huge wave hits! The ring shakes! King loses his grip on the rope and is forced to grab onto the edge of the square exit atop the cube. He gets both forearms up and places his chin on top of his arms as the rest of his body dangles. He sees the Wit Amulet and reaches...his fingers are inches away...but another wave hits and he nearly falls all the way back in, so he reaffirms his grip. Meyhu staggers to his feet inside and he looks up, seeing King teetering on the edge of victory and pain~
MoMo: King’s one move away from placing Meyhu and the Wit Trials into Checkmate.
Hood: When does he make the move? The stability of this ring has been in flux the entire match. If it were to shake while he’s making the move through the hole then he’ll lose his balance and fall.
MoMo: He’s just gonna have to take a chance. I don’t think there’s any strategy here...it’s a dance with fate...a dance with nature.
~Meyhu grabs onto the rope...he looks up at King. Meyhu walks to the corner holding the rope...he hops onto the top buckle with his feet on the middle rope. He then leans off, swinging on the rope. As he does, he yanks it between King’s legs and right into his balls!! King grimaces...his face twisted with pain as the crowd goes wild. Meyhu drops to the mat and throws the rope to the side. He looks up as King’s arms lose their grip and he falls...all the way down slamming HARD back first atop the mat! The fans go wild “MEYHU! MEYHU! MEYHU!” Meyhu stands over King, staring down at the Team PIC member as he rolls onto his side, curls up and nurses his wounds~
MoMo: King looked to have their match won on Night 10 until Meyhu rose from the ashes and ‘stole’ the victory.
Hood: That’s been his M.O. in big matches of late.
MoMo: Kieran might be the King of Opportunity but Meyhu seems to be the GOAT.
Hood: Well let’s hold off on blowing him just yet...he’s still gotta get up that rope.
~Meyhu looks out and sees the previous three rings floating closer and closer to the edge. He sees Sean Parker watching from his ring. The falls are closer than ever before. So, he stomps on King a few times before catching the swaying rope and jumping up, beginning a climb~
MoMo: Again, can’t waste much time.
Hood: Parker seems oddly calm for a guy who is very close to the edge.
MoMo: I wouldn’t worry about Parker. He’ll be fine. He’s probably just making sure these two Pro Wrestling legends get to finish these Trials without any interference.
~Meyhu isn’t have much trouble until the water starts to chop it up. The ring shakes and bounces. He clings to the rope, waiting for the turbulence to pass. Below, King gets to his feet, hobbling around, his nether regions, shall we say, barking back at him. Leaning against THE CUBE he looks up at Meyhu and sighs...he’s got to get moving. The waters calm and Meyhu starts ascending again...slowly, this time. The fear of unexpected turbulence cripples his speed. He looks up, the portal to the outside is right above him...he reaches for it..but feels something beneath him. He looks down and King has climbed up underneath Meyhu. King’s suddenly got Meyhu on his shoulders...King lets go of the rope and grips Meyhu’s legs. Meyhu tries hard to hold on but King throws himself back, ripping Meyhu from the rope. They fall all the way to the mat with a HUGE thud! An Electric Chair off the rope!! Major impact as the ring bobs violently atop the water. The fans go wild with both wrestlers down~
MoMo: Wow! Tremendous strength by King. Surprised he was willing to take some punishment to deal that move out to Meyhu but I guess he figures it’ll pay off.
Hood: Sometimes you gotta lose a little to win a lot.
MoMo: Kind of like when you fold a full house to trick the table into thinking you don’t know what you’re doing?
Hood: No. Never do that. Geezus, man.
MoMo: I’m not saying I’ve done that I’m just saying that...ya know.
Hood: And I’m just saying you need to invite me to your next poker game.
~King sits up, shaking off the impact quicker than Meyhu. He gets to his feet and feels the ring shaking. He holds steady...the ring stabilizes and he grabs the rope, beginning the climb. He moves with a great sense of urgency, unsure when the next big wave or current will hit. King nears the top of the cube...in the background we see the ring from match 1 go over the Falls. The fans go wild as they watch the ring descend, crashing into the deadly current at the bottom. King remains focused, reaching for the portal at the top of the CUBE. Meyhu sits up, holding the back of his head...he spots only two rings (aside form theirs) instead of three. The falls are near. He looks up and sees King reaching for an exit. Meyhu fights through the pain and gets to his feet, stumbling toward the rope~
MoMo: The end is near. These wrestlers have no say in the matter.
Hood: The elements are dictating the pace. A pace that probably needs to pick up.
MoMo: I’d say so.
~Meyhu grips the rope. King grips the top of the CUBE. Meyhu jumps up and starts to climb. King pulls himself up. The ring dips and shakes in the current. King leans forward, half out of the cube, trying to find some leverage so he doesn’t fall back in. Meyhu hugs the rope, about halfway up. He looks up at King and realizes he can’t play it safe. Meyhu continues climbing as the rope sways...each move upward potentially sealing his fate in the Wit Trials as the ring continues to sway and shift and shake~
MoMo: There’s no time to waste if you’re Meyhu. Not only is King near victory but the falls are imminent.
Hood: If anybody can climb a swaying rope it’s Matt Meyhu.
MoMo: Yes.
Hood: Or, Bifford.
MoMo: No
~While steadying himself, King looks down through the plexiglass and sees Meyhu climbing. He feels the same urgency and pulls himself through the portal and onto the top of the CUBE. The fans begin to urge Meyhu as he climbs and moves as fast as he can. King looks over his brow and sees the Wit Amulet. All he has to do is grab it and rip it free and he wins the Wit Trials and secures his spot in The Great Illuminatus. King reaches for it...but his misses! His face hits the top of the CUBE. Behind him, Meyhu has a grip on his leg and pulls back, keeping King from the Amulet. Meyhu then crawls out and over King, reaching for the treasured item. But, King transitions and takes Meyhu’s back...he then locks in a Camel Clutch atop the CUBE with the Amulet inches from both men. Meyhu tries to grab it but King pulls back...the pain prevents Meyhu from extending. We get a wide shot as the two men are locked on top of the CUBE...it continues to move toward the falls~
MoMo: King has Meyhu in a tough spot.
Hood: Yea but what good is this going to do to win him the match? Time’s wasting and Meyhu isn’t gonna pass out from a fuckin Camel Clutch.
MoMo: These guys are thinking on the fly, Hood. Cut them some slack.
Hood: Times are tough, man. Nobody is getting any slack!
~The ring from the second match goes over the Falls. Both King and Meyhu see this, facing in that direction. It sends another jolt of urgency through their bodies as King slams Meyhu face first into the CUBE and dives for the Amulet...but, Meyhu grabs King’s legs and tosses him to the side, away from the Amulet. King flips over, landing hard on his back. Meyhu gets to his knees and nurses his neck for a bit before reaching for the Amulet...but King kicks him in the face. Meyhu rises to his feet, stunned. King kips up atop the Cube and kicks Meyhu again and again, in the midsection. Meyhu staggers over the portal and toward the side of the CUBE. Fans yell at Meyhu to look out. We get a glimpse of Parker looking on from the third ring as it nears the Falls. King has Meyhu teetering on the edge~
MoMo: Oh no! Don’t kick him off the cube and into the water!
Hood: Stop trying to will it into action with your witchy words!
MoMo: I’m doing no such thing!
~King steps back and rushes ahead with a SUPERKICK!! But Meyhu ducks!!! King misses and nearly goes over the edge! He waves his arms to keep his balance...Parker looks on, leaning over the top rope, filled with anxiety watching King living life on the edge. Meyhu spins around and sees King teetering...one push will send him over. But he also sees the falls approaching and he turns and heads for the Amulet! Meyhu dives onto the top of the CUBE and crawls for the prize piece...he reaches for it but gets CURB STOMPED!! His face SLAMS into the CUBE! He flips over, out. King staggers forward, tumbling across the top of the structure before getting to all fours and eyeing the Amulet. He starts to head that way when he hears fans yelling at Parker~
MoMo: Meyhu went for the win rather than King’s demise and it cost him!
Hood: I don’t know if his conscience was fucking with him or if he just felt rushed but, yea, that was a mistake.
MoMo: A mistake King wouldn’t have made.
~Parker turns and sees the Falls near his ring. He leaps onto the top rope and springboards forward, diving into the current, toward the final ring. The fans gasp. Even King looks down like ‘wtf’, thinking Parker might not realize how strong the current is. He watches as the third ring hits the falls and descends into devastation. There’s one ring left and it’s theirs. He turns and crawls for the Amulet~
MoMo: Is Parker okay?
Hood: Can people from Scotland even swim?
MoMo: I’m sure some of them can!
Hood: I don’t know, man. I’ve never seen a scottish person swim. Ever.
MoMo: You know a lot of Scottish people?
Hood: Hey, I know enough, okay?
~King reaches for the amulet. But, so does Meyhu. The two men rip it free from it’s restraints as the fall comes closer and closer and closer. King delivers a forearm. Meyhu delivers one of his own. They both dive in with a headbutt and their skulls THUD against each other. The Wit Amulet is dropped. Both men stumble. King spins around with a kick but Meyhu ducks and hoists King up with a back body drop!! King hits the top of the Cube right as they go up a wave and he slides away. Meyhu looks down at the Amulet...he hears people yelling and he turns...he sees King hanging onto the edge of the Cube. The water beneath him. A potentially fatal fall should he let go. His grip slips. Water from the surrounding scene slicking the surface. Meyhu battles with instinct. We see Parker emerge, holding onto the side of the ring apron as the ring floats toward the fall. He waits to see what will happen~
MoMo: Will Meyhu save King? Or will he save himself?
Hood: Meyhu turned on PIC inside the Illuminatus. He took advantage of an opportunity against King and Plethora on Night 10. I think we all know what’s in his nature.
MoMo: There’s got to be more depth to him than that!
~Meyhu reaches down for the Amulet but he hears the fans gasp as King loses grip with one hand. He’s barely hanging on. Meyhu curses and turns around. He heads over and gives King his hand. King looks up, shocked. He takes it and Meyhu pulls him up. As King is being pulled up he drives his arm into the crotch of Meyhu with a low blow!!! The fans boo!! Meyhu falls on top of the cube~
MoMo: No!
Hood: Oh man...don’t ever, ever show passion towards your enemy. Meyhu knows this!
MoMo: This is different, Hood. We’re talking life or death!
Hood: This is war, my man. You do what you have to do to win.
~King laughs and crawls toward the Wit Amulet and he grabs it! The bell sounds as the fans surrounding the falls boo~
Belvedere: Here is your winner...and the winner of the Wit Trials...KIERAN KING!!!!!
MoMo: Damnit!
Hood: Meyhu’s heart was too big. If you wanna be a king you have to be a killer.
~King holds the Amulet up high. As he does...the other three amulets appear. They swirl around King’s head before rising into the sky. Clouds gather. Lightning strikes. The pieces glow and heat up...they start to connect and then...they form the final piece of the TRIAD! King looks up in awe, as does everyone else. The final piece, emitting a blue glow, descends down into King’s grasp. With the power in his hand, King levitates above the Cube. It nears the edge. Parker looks up...King points down and uses his power to pull Parker out of the water and next to him, hovering over the Cube. Meyhu remains down~
MoMo: Okay, he’s saved Parker. Now how about Meyhu.
Hood: If Meyhu thinks King is going to show him the same kindness then he has another thing coming.
~Meyhu slowly gets up and stares up at King. King looks down at Meyhu. Meyhu looks over at the Falls. It’s now or never. King smirks and hits Meyhu with a blue lightning strike! Meyhu is knocked out on top of the Cube. Fans gasp. They yell. They boo King. Parker looks over at King in shock~
MoMo: He’s going to let Meyhu go over Niagara Falls!
Hood: Told ya.
~Parker shoves King away and breaks free from the electrical bond. He falls down on top of The Cube. The fans go wild! Parker rushes forward and he grabs Meyhu and dives into the water just before The Cube goes over. It crashes down below, shattering into a thousand pieces. King looks down, waiting...as we all are to see what’s become of Parker and Meyhu~
MoMo: The valiant Sean Parker couldn’t live with himself if he watched Meyhu perish over those falls. I just hope they’re both okay.
Hood: Heroes just love being martyrs, don’t they? Fuckin idiots.
~King sees nothing. But there’s nothing to see...it’s an unbelievable force of nature at the bottom of the Falls. A small village could fall in there and vanish. He rises into the air as all the power from the TRIAD shoots out, consuming him and threatening all who look on. Fans scatter. They rush for safety~
MoMo: The power of the TRIAD, as Tesla feared, has fallen into the wrong hands.
Hood: It’s just a piece, MoMo.
MoMo: But a leg up. King is going to have a great shot to unite the entire thing.
Hood: Let’s hope, for all our sake, that doesn’t happen.
~We cut to bank several hundred feet away. It’s oddly secluded. A figure emerges...it’s Sean Parker. He’s got Meyhu with him. He pulls Meyhu out of the water and together they collapse. Once they gather themselves, Meyhu looks at Parker and the two shake hands. Their attentions then turn to King, in the distance, surveying his power. Learning it. Honing it. Threatening it. We fade to black~
